Basic Functions

Run at Startup

Right Click Dialog

When 'Run at Startup' is checked, CamTrack will start automatically when you start your computer. You can always start CamTrack manually from the 'Start->All Programs' menu.

Automatic Open

When "Auto Open" is checked, CamTrack senses that a new webcam is started, and automatically opens the CamTrack dialog. When the webcam stops, the CamTrack dialog will automatically close and a helpful balloon tip will appear over the CamTrack notification area tray icon.

Face Tracking

Face Tracking Panel

Face tracking automatically locates your face in the video image and zooms in on it, keeping your face centered in the middle of the frame at an optimal size.

To switch Face Tracking Mode:

  1. Open the CamTrack dialog by right-clicking on the CamTrack tray icon CamTrack Tray Icon and select Open.
  2. In the CamTrack dialog click on the Face Tracking checkbox.

Zoom Level

You can select one of three levels of zoom. A higher zoom level means your face will occupy a larger portion of the video image, but it will also result in more frequent movements of the frame while CamTrack tries to follow your face.

To select a Zoom Level:

  1. Open the CamTrack dialog by right-clicking on the CamTrack tray icon CamTrack Tray Icon and select Open.
  2. In the CamTrack dialog check the Face Tracking checkbox.
  3. Click on the zoom image CamTrack Zoom Button to move between the different levels of zoom.

Displaying the Face Location Rectangle

You can have CamTrack frame the estimated face location with a blue rectangle. You can use this rectangle for fun or for troubleshooting. It can help you understand better how CamTrack works and when or why it chooses to zoom in or out or not to zoom at all.

To display the Face Location Rectangle:

  1. Open the CamTrack dialog by right-clicking on the CamTrack tray icon CamTrack Tray Icon and select Open.
  2. In the CamTrack dialog check the Face Tracking checkbox.
  3. Click on the Show Face Location checkbox.
