- How do I start a webcam with CamTrack?
You can not start your webcam from within CamTrack's dialog. First start your webcam and then CamTrack will be activated automatically.
- My webcam is on and I see myself in the picture but when I turn on face tracking nothing happens. Why?
This is probably because your face already occupies most of the video. In this case CamTrack can not zoom in on it any further.
To verify that CamTrack has successfully located your face, switch on the "Display Face Location" feature. Click here to learn how to do it.
- Why do I see only half of my face in the picture?
Turn off face tracking and verify that your face is not out of the webcam's field of view. CamTrack does not physically pan or tilt your webcam. What CamTrack does is find the location of your face in the video and digitally zoom in on that section.
To verify that CamTrack has successfully located your face, switch on the "Display Face Location" feature. Click here to learn how to do it.
- Why is the face tracking mechanism distracted away from my face?
The face tracking mechanism is based on an algorithm which follows color changes in the webcam's video. To achieve best results, keep the following in mind:
- Moving shadows cast on the wall behind you might distract the tracking mechanism.
- A friend entering the webcam's field of view might distract the tracking mechanism.
- A TV or a computer monitor turned on behind you might distract the tracking mechanism.
